Day 1 –
Met on arrival and transfer to Sweet Waters Tented Camp in Mt. Kenya. Check-in and lunch followed by an evening game drive. Host to all the members of the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya. At the forefront of the Kenyan conservancy program, the conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species.(Optional night game drive, as this is a private conservancy)

Day 2 –
After breakfast, head to Lake Nakuru. Arrive by noon and check in to Lake Nakuru Flamingo Lodge. An evening game drive in this designated Ramsar site. Lake Nakuru is home to the black and white rhino, has a sizeable population of leopards, lions and buffaloes and is famed for its abundance of pythons. The more sociable white rhino is a common sight seen grazing on the open plains. However, its less sociable cousin, the black rhino, often remains hidden in the dense bush. Although not native to this park, these animals were introduced since the park offers good security from poachers. The rhinos are involved in an active breeding program to maintain and improve gene pool diversity. Lake Nakuru National Park is also famous for a large population of pink flamingos, which featured in the movie “Out of Africa”. Enjoy the sunset whilst listening out for the laughing hyena or the mighty lion staking his territory for the night.

Day 3 –
After breakfast, we begin our drive to the Masai Mara. We drop down into the Great Rift Valley past the spectacular Volcano of Mount Longonot and head towards the rolling plains of the Masai Mara. The last one and a half-hours of the journey find us on bumpy, dusty, dirt road as we drive across the Loita Plains taking in the scenery. The Masai Mara is the most famous and prolific game park in Kenya covering an area of 1672 square kms. It is classified as a Reserve as opposed to a National Park to allow the Masai people to use the area to graze their cattle. A highlight of the Mara is no doubt the annual wildebeest migration, when literally millions of these beasts move north from the Serengeti in search of grass for food, before turning south again. The Masai Mara has one of the highest concentrations of lion in Africa and is also a good place to try and spot the elusive leopard and cheetah. We arrive by noon and after checking in and lunch we proceed on an evening game drive.
Back to the lodge, before sunset for overnight and dinner at Mara Sentrim. (B,L,D)

Day 4 –
Full day in the Mara. Either an early morning game drive or an after breakfast game drive. Back to the lodge to avoid the afternoon sun and relax in the pool. After lunch, head out for an evening game drive. Back before it gets dark.

Day 5 –
After breakfast, head back to Nairobi, with a visit to the Giraffe Centre, an en-route City Tour, lunch at Little India, and a tour of the Masai market. Drop off back to your hotel/airport.
